Making Faces Week 8

This weeks look is called “the anarchist” This look was very clean, with a graphic eye color and line.

The amazing Kevin Aucoin book Making Faces is again where I am drawing from inspiration. I did make a personal discovery this week noticing how little Mr. Aucoin uses foundation. He instruct to use concealer where necessary and less is more which I love, and always want to do but, don’t always.

Over all this look is extremely light makeup with a clean finish and just a pop of creative drama. I used the same graphic shape that was used on the model in the book, but you can do any shapes you like.

jenanarchistSkin : Prepped with moisturizer no foundation or concealer needed.

Eyes : Graphic liner applied with small angle brush Mac Fall 2013 Eye Palette in Blazer, Fall 2014 Eye Palette in Azure Haze, Storm Cloud, and Organic.

Lips: Mac Cremesheen Glass in On the Scene

Making Faces Week 7

This weeks look is called The Sophisticate , its a thirties inspired  Film Noir look. I know another no eyebrow look. I have been skipping around a little. I didn’t want all 3 of the no eyebrow looks together. So, my friends and family would know that I did not shave off my eyebrows. I repeat I DID NOT SHAVE OFF MY EYEBROWS, mom! 🙂  ( don’t be scared Lori)

Either way its so strange to see myself without them.  I never think that they are dark until I try to hide them. I did exactly the steps in the book, get the book for full details. No matter what I do I can still see them. I asked a few of my Drag Queen friends….there response….”there is an APP for that.” So again photo shop wins out. For those of you who don’t photo shop there is an I-phone app that is called Tune your Face, Thanks AGGY

This one I have included a black and white, and a color photo. Why a black and white beauty image you ask, well that’s what it is in the book 🙂 I have also included color for those of you who want to see it.

Thanks

Jen

blackandwhite colorFace: For the skin I prepped with Mac Natural Radiance Primer in Yellow to Shop and limited concealer from the Mac Light Palette I then used my Chanel 20 Claire Loose Powder

Eyes: I lined the bottom water line with Kryolan Faceliner in 60. I then used my Kryolan Eye Shadow Palette in V3 to shade the lids from the outside corner of the lid to the inside crease, a tiny bit is then dusted under the eye at the lash line.I smudged black from the same shadow palette into my upper lash line and applied Ardell individual lashes with Duo Dark Glue. Finishing off lashes with Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

Lips: Mac Lipstick in Hang up

Making Faces Week 6

This weeks look from the amazing Kevin Aucoin Book Making Faces is called The Exotique its the one he did on Cher! Super Glossy!

This look is all about wet looking dewy shiny skin, I loved this look so much,I just wish it left my eyelids less sticky.

I was easily able to wear this out on the street, ran my errands and didn’t get any strange looks, actually I got a free coffee! So if you like free coffee, I say give this look a try!

SirenFace: I used Makeup Forever Uplight Luminizer Gel in 12 Dewy Warm Glow along with Makeup Forever HD Blush in 225 Peachy Pink

Eyes: For the lid I actually used Mac Lip Palette in Modern Browns because I did not have any brown cream shadows and it worked out really nicely, easy smooth coverage. It recommended Petroleum Jelly for the high shine on the lids, but I used the Mac Studio Eye Gloss. I brushed my brows up and lined them with Mac Eyebrows in Linger, and Urban Decay Mascara in  Perversion (my favorite, all my friends are using it too!)

Lips: I used Trucco Lip Pencil in Naked

Making Faces Project Week 5

This weeks look is called the ” The Temptress” from the Kevin Aucoin book Making Faces.

I used a fake bang to imitate the feeling of the photo. I actually really love this look.

I think the simple eye with the heavy lash and liner wing slightly out has been my favorite look thus far and possible the one I would be most comfortable wearing out. The bangs were pretty funny since they are no where near the color of my hair, but it was fun!

Making Faces Project Week 4

This weeks look inspired by the Kevin Aucoin makeup book making faces is called  The Flapper so  of course I felt obligated to do a little pin curl on my hair, using the Aquage Defining Gel.

The eyes for the flapper are very smoldry with a dark red lip, I could see myself wearing this look on a night out sometime, it was a little funny to walk home in my extra bundled up winter gear though. Enjoy!
