Making Faces Project Week 3

Week 3 is titled The Starlet I have to say I was not going to actually bleach out my brows for fear of looking like a crazy alien.  Its definably a fun look, but for normal wear I think I will be keeping my actual eyebrows 🙂

So far I have really been enjoying this project, although its been really strange trying to photograph myself, The first 2 sets of photos I was setting the timer and running in front hoping to catch a decent image, After doing a little research I can now click the picture from my phone, which makes it much easier but a lot less funny to watch, ask Claire from bohemian-belle She can give you a first hand account of the hilarity that ensues!

Brows I started by sealing my brows with a glue stick followed by and eyebrow sealer I got on Amazon called Model in a Bottle.

I then used my Mac Concealer Palette in Light

Eyes: I used TiGi Precision Black Eyeliner Pen and Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

Cheeks: I used Mac powder blush in Frankly Scarlett.

Lips:I used Nars Matte lip pencil in their new Color Iberico

 

Making Faces Project Week 2

This week my look from the Kevin Aucoin book Making Faces is The Vamp, the original look in the book was done on Demi Moore, as you can see from my pictures we have completely different coloring. Again I try to follow Mr. Aucoin’s steps rather than copy the photo look.  http://www.kevynaucoin.com/

I found that this vamp look is way different from my average makeup day! I loved the eyes but the instructions say to line the inside of the lips for that Clara Bow look. My top lip is smaller than my bottom, so for me it felt really strange to emphasis that, but the project dictates it. I’m trying to, “get comfortable with being uncomfortable.” ( thanks navy seals)

The Directions stated to use hardly any foundation only concealer is necessary so I went sans anything for the face other than my Dior Hydra Life Moisturizer http://www.dior.com

Eyes : I used my Urban Decay Palette using the grey tones. www.urbandecay.com for the liner I used Mac Pro Long wear Black Ice http://www.maccosmetics.com
and Urban Decay Mascara in Perversion www.urbandecay.com

For the Lips: I lined them with Mac Pro Long wear in Kiss me Quick and  Used my Mac Editorial Red Lip Palette to mix the lip color. http://www.maccosmetics.com
